Prepare annual budget, audit finances as needed, count offerings, insurance coverage, paying taxes, stewardship education, fundraising, and other duties assigned by the Ad Council.
Part 5.05 Stewardship and Finance
(a) This commission along with the assistance of the Treasurer shall prepare and monitor the annual church budget.
(b) This commission shall appoint an audit committee to audit the church’s books and records at the direction of the Administrative Council or as this commission desires for their own satisfaction.
(c) This commission shall appoint at least two (2) individuals whose responsibility shall be to receive the church offerings, count the money, deposit the money, and report the needed information to the Treasurer and Financial Secretary.
(d) This commission shall oversee all the required federal, state, and local filings.
(e) This commission shall oversee the church’s insurance coverage and make sure that adequate protection is provided.
(f) This commission shall work with the Senior Pastor in the development and implementation of stewardship education.
(g) This commission shall recommend to the Administrative Council a person for the position of Financial Secretary. This person shall be responsible for keeping a correct record of the names and amounts of money paid by contributing members to the various funds received by the Church. The Financial Secretary shall render an annual statement to each contributing member.
(h) This commission shall oversee the following areas: The Church Treasurer, the Financial Secretary, individuals selected to count the offerings, Audit Committees, all church bank accounts and credit cards, and any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Administrative Council.
